THE BRAVE ONES BY HAMID GBAWURU MARAH

THE BRAVE ONES BY HAMID GBAWURU MARAH

The Brave Ones (The Braves)

When cowards will run away

Scrambling in search of easy ways

True men will stay.

They appreciate doing it the hard way

They never stop believing as to a true God they pray

Steadfast; their conviction, principles and values never sway

They will lift their heads up to their mighty maker and say

Lord grant us the strength to save the day.

When cowards will form a cabal like a mosaic

Pursuing ‘easy go, easy come’ – their fundamental rubric

The braves will face the music

They will take the heat

They will dance to the rough beat

They will clean the sheets

They will never back down, bitter or sweet

And they will come out standing tall and neat

No wonder, in the end, brave men are always the big hits.

Someone must bring about the change; but who?

Those who run away relying on the efficiency of their shoe?

All that matters to most men is the good life, riches and being the beau

But from the seven heavens and earth, they deserve the loudest boo…

And that too!

When cowards will vanish into the dew

Avoiding their natural challenges and wander into the blue

Brave men will stay put like glue

Oh…how much shame there is in abandonment, cowards lack even a clue

But great men follow their heart, to it they stay true

For they understand so well that hard times don’t last, hard men do

What cowards are is the direct opposite of a “Scouter”

They measure up as doubters

They live only for today and that’s that…

But brave men are no deserters

They are true fighters

When the blade of time gets sharper

They still find the courage to hold on tighter

Their loyalty and honour forever shine brighter

As every other man, they harbour fears

As every other being, they shed tears

But at best they understand this world as ‘the braver, the mightier’

It’s such an honour to be the last samurai, the final musketeer

For as we hold our grounds, one day the future will become clear

All actions will pay-off, and every man his share.
