GREAT TIPS FOR MAKING YOUR MONDAY TRULY MAGICAL

GREAT TIPS FOR MAKING YOUR MONDAY TRULY MAGICAL

They say Monday rhymes with hate, disappointment, sadness, regrets, if”s, too late, exhausting, long, dreary, blues, tiring the list goes on and on.

We grew up accepting that this day is meant to overwhelm and consume us. No wonder we often start out our working week, angry and frightened about what the future holds. Angry drivers, angry bosses, angry parents, moody teachers with children throwing tantrums over nothing at all.

Over the years, we have been taught to fear the unknown. Challenges have now turned into pain rather discovery. This pattern is affecting our ways of working , causing undue stress and pressure for many.

How can we transform the 1st day of the working week into something pleasurable and welcomed. I am quite certain that among other things, our productivity will increase to higher levels .

Imagine a world where people look forward to Mondays? What if you are greeted by a boss who is genuinely happy to be at work. What if your employees show up excitedly to conquer company goals and make things happen.

This is possible , no it’s not wishful thinking or another motivational talk. We can all start having Magical Mondays.

I have listed a few habits that we need to unlearn and will go on to elaborate a few habits we can install or relearn.

UNLEARN : PROCRASTINATION

It’s so easy to postpone to tomorrow. Sometimes we imagine that tomorrow will never come or maybe those tasks will just disappear. A lot of people end up frustrated and overburdened because they leave tasks unattended.
Sadly some have grown to accept this bad habit. Haven’t you heard ever so often, ‘I work well under pressure ‘ Sounds like a great justification for lazy producers. An ‘A’ game player would plan well because they know that they will always have issues thrown at them or opportunities, that may require urgent attention.

When you leave the important things for last minute the urgent things will now become important. The aim must be to give off your best at every instance. The tendency that you will  do such under pressure is highly likely. Do what you have to do and do it quick!

INSTALL : SCHEDULING AND PLANNING WORK

Look for great apps  that will help you plan better and ultimately achieve your goals.
Remember this technique, start out with your most difficult tasks and end with the pleasurable ones. This will leave you with a concentrated amount of adrenaline that will support your work.

UNLEARN: OBSESSION WITH TECHNOLOGY

Strange huh? This has become the trigger for ineffectiveness and distractions.
When you are set to make your week successful, time your sessions spent online: whats-app groups, Facebook groups, random commentary, trolling and observing. No one pays you to be the first to report on every issue.

INSTALL: USING TECHNOLOGY AS A TOOL

Research using technology as a tool. Their are so many benefits that we can generate from online tools, apps and learning platforms .
Reach out for the ones that support your personal development or career.

UNLEARN: DOING IT JUST BECAUSE

Why do you do what you do? Because you were expected to …right? ( thought as much, no wonder you are yet to be promoted in years) Don’t tell me you had no choice. We are all blessed with choices. Sadly a large number of people are stuck doing what they dislike.

INSTALL : PASSION

This is the secret ingredient to success. When you are passionate about something you become blind to its challenges.
Knowing that you have a mission to accomplish brings you into the do/die zone. Have you ever wondered ? How does the soldier stay motivated? It’s ownership of this truth. It’s on me- I have to play my part to make this battle a success.

Now that we have installed these new habits, we have only one road to follow! Make it a Magical Monday.
